Its hard to believe but it’s twelve years to the day since Wayne Rooney announced himself to the football world, with his wonder goal against Arsenal. At the age of 16 years and 360 days, Rooney had come of the bench to end Arsenal’s 30 game unbeaten run with a screamer. It was also Arsenals first away defeat in 24 games, but all the headlines were stolen by Rooney, and you just sensed you were watching a player who would one day be a great. Rooney signed for Manchester United for £25.6 M, late in the 2004 summer transfer window and would go on to add many more spectaculars to his goals catalogue.
